Wireless controller - Bluetooth vs. Wireless Adapter
Nov 6, 2019 · I haven't used a wireless dongle but I assume it would work the same. Bluetooth will be better as it is native to newer controls. I would choose the Bluetooth connection if I were you, adapters work but rarely have problems. For a wireless connection bluetooth is good but I still prefer a wired connection.

Dec 27, 2022 · The Xbox adapter is awesome. It supports 8 controllers at the same time or 4 controllers with voice and audio ( you can plug a wired headset in the controller for audio). Another option is to get an adapter from mayflash or 8bitdo. They connect to your controllers over Bluetooth but the pc sees it as a wired controller.

If you were trying to get IRL latency numbers you still would need to subtract out the latency of the display regardless of how fast it is. Reply.

Aug 19, 2020 · I can say from experience that the Xbox wireless adapter is well worth having. It's much more reliable than bluetooth. Especially on Windows, which for some reason seems to be sketchy at best when it comes to bluetooth in general. Also, there's zero input lag.

It probably varies between Bluetooth controllers but the input lag is weird on my laptop with Bluetooth. Sometimes it feels really laggy. The official non Bluetooth wireless adaptor is great though. I mainly play wired on my makeup but use the adaptor when it's connected to my tv. Wireless seems perfect on the xbox itself

According to Wikipedia: "Xbox Wireless uses a higher frequency than Bluetooth (2.4 GHz), improving bandwidth and lag." Take that as you will. Wired will always be most reliable and least latency.
