Another beach house along the Outer Banks has collapsed into the ocean, according to Cape Hatteras National Seashore Park officials. It’s the Outer Banks’ third house this year to fall into the ocean.

Officials are urging visitors of the OBX to stay away from Rodanthe Beach as they investigate the collapse of an unoccupied beach house in Rodanthe.

Yet another home has fallen into the sea in Rodanthe, North Carolina, the small community on a sliver of the Outer Banks that has been battered by fierce storms, rising seas and relentless erosion.

Another house collapsed on the Outer Banks, prompting calls for people to avoid part of the North Carolina coast. Cape Hatteras National Seashore said the unoccupied house fell early Sept. 20 in Rodanthe, a roughly 215-mile drive southeast from Raleigh. The house is the eighth to collapse in the area during the past four years.

A third home has collapsed along Cape Hatteras National Seashore, highlighting the ongoing threat of erosion and rising sea levels to North Carolina's Outer Banks.

Dangerous debris may be present on the beach and in the water near the collapse site, according to the National Park Service.
