The homicides began around 6 p.m. Friday at East 75 th Street and the Paseo. Dennis Griffin, 66, was shot while sitting in his car. He later died at an area hospital. Griffin's car was blocking the southbound lanes of traffic when police arrived on scene.

KANSAS CITY —Law enforcement are investigating a series of homicides over the weekend in Kansas City. Just before 6p.m. Friday, police were dispatched to a shooting at 75th and Paseo, according to KCPD Captain Jake Becchina.

Detectives have now taken over the case, which KCPD is considering a homicide. KCPD also says that the investigation reveals that there was an altercation between two individuals that knew each other that led up to the shooting.

Kansas City police are investigating a shooting that killed one person in Kansas City Saturday evening. Officers were called to a residence in the 2700 block of Garfield Avenue where they found a man with a gunshot wound unresponsive and who was declared dead at the scene.
