Demi Lovato, who started acting at around age ten, is a co-director, executive producer and a subject of this documentary, an idea that Lovato's had for years.

The film gives an insider's look at child stardom through interviews with Drew Barrymore, JoJo Siwa, Christina Ricci, Kenan Thompson, Raven-Symoné and more.

Directing alongside Nicola Marsh, Lovato steered “Child Star,” a documentary detailing some of the struggles she faced growing up in the industry. But, where her previous three docs focused solely on Lovato, this one brings in more people.
