The 20-year-old American and No. 3 in the world defeated No. 7 and Olympic gold medalist Qinwen Zheng of China 3-6, 6-4, 7-6 (2) in 3 hours, 4 minutes to clinch the Billie Jean King Trophy and her ninth career WTA Tour singles title.
